Between 2 am and 2.30 am yesterday (Sunday 28 January), a call was received from the East Midlands Ambulance Service stating a man in his 30s had been found unconscious. He was taken to hospital, where it was established he had suffered a fractured skull and bleed on the brain.
After enquiries, a 28-year-old man and 35-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the incident. The man remains in custody while the woman has since been released on bail.
PC Tizzie Greene, the investigating officer, said: “As part of our investigation, we know that a fight took place in the area prior to the man being found injured in Needhams Walk.
“While this incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, I believe there were a number of people around who will have seen what happened. I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who filmed it or saw who was involved.
