A driver has died after a crash on the A5 on Monday.
Police were called to the two-car collision near the junction with Fosse Way just after 1.30pm on 9th December.
The incident, which happened on the northbound carriageway, involved a silver Seat Leon and a grey Vauxhall Astra.
The driver of the Seat Leon, a man in his 80s, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Vauxhall Astra, a woman in her 30s, was taken to University Hospital of Coventry with minor injuries. She has since been discharged.
The A5 was closed between Magna Park and Smockington Hollow while emergency services attended the incident. It was reopened at around 5.50pm.
Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing to anyone with any information to contact police.
Detective Constable Pete Davies said: “We are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the collision. Anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw either of the vehicles prior to the collision is urged to get in touch, if you have not already spoken with police.
“Anyone who has any dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident should also check this and make contact with us.”
