Firefighters were called to a lorry on fire on the A42.

Appliances from Ashby and Castle Donington stations and the water carrier from Loughborough station were sent to the scene between junction 13 Ashby to junction 14 on 3rd June just after 5.30pm.

Leicestershire fire and rescue says one tractor unit was fully involved in fire.

Four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets were used to put the fire out.

Both of the Eastbound lanes were closed.

Police and Highways were also in attendance.

The incident was handed over to highways for recovery of the vehicle.
