At around 5.30 pm on Sunday 12th February, two drivers got out of their cars on Enderby Road and began arguing with one another.
One of the drivers – a man in his 50s – was punched in the face, which caused him to fall to the ground and hit his head on the pavement. He is continuing to receive treatment in hospital for injuries which are life-changing.
A 43-year-old man from Barlestone was later arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He has since been released on bail.
Detective Constable Simon Roberts, from the Complex Investigation Team (CIT) said: “Our investigation into this incident is very much continuing and I’m asking for anyone who has information but has not yet spoken to police to come forward.
“Please cast your mind back – were you in the area? What did you see? Can you help?
“I’d like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or any motorists who have a dashcam in their vehicle. Anything you can provide, no matter how insignificant you think it is, could assist us.”
