Park rangers are reminding people not to have barbecues at Bradgate Park.
The warning comes after a fire on Saturday 30th March which had to be put out by firefighters.
A post on the Bradgate Park Trust facebook page said: "Today there was a fire in the park, fortunately it was caught early and the fire department were called. If this wasn't caught so quickly it could have devastated a large amount of the park including many veteran trees close by. This was the result of people having bbqs in the park, visitors are reminded that there are no bbqs or cooking in the park under any circumstances."
"We have a clear no BBQ and fire policy. Bradgate Park is a nationally important open space and we ask everyone to be careful, even with a discarded cigarette."
