The youth is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates Court today.
A 17-year-old male has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent following an incident in Druid Street in Hinckley on Monday (13 June).
A spokesperson at Leicestershire Police said: "A 17-year-old male has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent following an incident in Hinckley.
"The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has also been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article, namely a machete.
"The charges are in connection with an incident reported in Druid Street in Hinckley on Monday (13 June).
"The youth has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates Court today (Wednesday)."
