Residents urged to check new waste site opening hours
Winter opening hours for Leicestershire’s recycling and household waste sites will come into force next week.
From Monday, 1 October, winter opening times will apply, with all sites continuing to open five days a week, but from 9am to 4pm.
The five day pattern of opening is arranged so that sites are open at weekends and a proportion of sites remain open each day for use by the public in the week.
Remember sites at Kibworth, Lount, Lutterworth, Melton, Shepshed and Whetstone are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
While waste sites at Barwell, Bottesford, Coalville, Market Harborough, Oadby and Somerby are closed on Thursdays and Fridays.
Loughborough’s recycling and household waste site, in Railway Terrace, is temporarily closed to allow for essential maintenance works to be carried out. It is due to reopen in December 2018.
To minimise disruption, the Mountsorrel waste site will be open from 9am to 4pm, seven days a week while Loughborough is closed.
Extended opening hours will resume on 1 April 2019.
