It happened at 6 o'clock yesterday morning outside the golf club in Ridge Lane, Nuneaton and involved a van and a cyclist.
The van driver conducted CPR on the cyclist until paramedics arrived, however unfortunately nothing could be done to save him and he died at the scene.
Hard closures were put in place to allow emergency services and collision investigators to attend the scene.
Police have arrested a 21 year old man from Nuneaton on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the male cyclist as he rode on a white mountain bike from the direction of Arden Forest Estate along Ridge Lane or a white refrigerated Mercedes Sprinter van driving in the same direction before the collision occurred to please contact Warwickshire Police on 01926 415415 quoting incident 34 of 4 February.
