Firefighters said the building was evacuated of workers.
Initially three pumps attended but two more were requested.
A spokesperson for D.S Smith told Fosse 107: "We can confirm that there was a minor incident this evening at our operation at Hinckley and fire services were in attendance. No employees were affected by the incident and we would like to thank the fire services for their support."
The incident, which lead to the closure of Dodwells Road, caused many delays for motorists in the nearby area on Thursday evening.
Firefighters were still on the scene into the evening.
