Detectives are appealing for any witnesses or people with dashcam footage, who have not yet spoken to police, to get in touch.
A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a non-stop collision in Nottingham Road, Loughborough on Friday 1st July.
On Sunday, a 17-year-male was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving in connection with the incident. He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Police were called at 2.38 pm to the incident which involved a pedestrian and what is believed to be an electric bicycle.
The collision happened in Nottingham Road near the junction with Mill Lane.
Detective Constable Maggie Langton said: “The pedestrian, a man in his 80s, currently remains in hospital with serious injuries following this collision and a full investigation remains ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
“I am also appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the vehicle or pedestrian beforehand to get in touch. If you have any dashcam footage from the area at the time, you should also contact us.”
