Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man at a property in Mountsorrel.
Police were called by East Midlands Ambulance Service at 10.47am on Friday (22 May) who were in attendance at a flat in Chestnut Court.
A man, who was at the property, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Due to concerns raised, officers attended the property and the death of the man was initially being treated as unexplained.
Detailed enquiries have been ongoing throughout the weekend to establish the full circumstances including speaking to people in the area and CCTV enquiries.
Following a post-mortem examination, it is believed the man was assaulted prior to his death and a murder investigation has been launched.
