Officers are investigating an incident in which two 19-year-old women were reportedly assaulted at Watermead Park.
Police were called shortly before 6.30pm Monday 1st June following a report that the victims had been hit with a glass bottle by a man they did not know.
It was reported that the man was with a group of other men and women.
Both victims were taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham to be treated for injuries that are not life-threatening. They have both since been discharged.
A scene preservation was in place in Watermead Park while officers carried out further enquiries. No arrests have been made at this time.
Detective Sergeant Dan Robberts, from Charnwood CID, said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident to come forward.
“Were you in Watermead Park yesterday evening? Were you out for a walk or run? Did you see what happened or notice anyone acting in a way that caught your attention?
“Any information you have, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, could help with our investigation.”
