Employers including DHL, East Midlands Airport Training Academy and Oakland International will be among more than 20 businesses offering opportunities at North West Leicestershire’s second virtual job fair.
With Covid-19 continuing to prevent a face to face event, the virtual job fair will instead shine a light on the opportunities available across the district, interactively allowing jobseekers to explore these opportunities and make contact with employers.
North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC), Jobcentre Plus and Stephenson College successfully organised their first virtual job fair back in October and, with restrictions still in place, will now host another online fair later this month.
A huge variety of employers are taking part, and these include:
- Alltruck
- DHL
- East Midlands Airport Training Academy
- Eddie Stobbart
- Insomnia Café
- North West Leicestershire District Council
- Oakland International.
The virtual event will open at 10am on Tuesday 20 April and close at midnight on 26 April, with visitors able to explore the site at their leisure. The fair will use the Leicester Employment Hub website and can be found at www.leicesteremploymenthub.co.uk/nwldc
Bev Smith, Chief Executive at North West Leicestershire District Council, said: “The last 12 months have been challenging and as a result we know there are local people looking for new employment.
“Our online fair will help match local talent to job opportunities in the area. We’re lucky to have a thriving local economy and low unemployment rates and we’re determined to keep it that way.
“A virtual job fair is an innovative way we can match jobseekers to local opportunities from the safety of their own homes.”
