All patients, visitors, and staff at the Emergency Department at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and the Clinical Decision Unit at the Glenfield Hospital are being asked to wear face masks.
They are treating an increasing number of patients with respiratory illnesses, like COVID-19, which spreads through the air.
The trust has said they are also seeing an increase in the number of staff who are getting sick due to these illnesses.
